1-2-07: The gym walls are complete, except for
one section. We expect the metal roofing to be installed sometime this
week. The work going on inside the building is less obvious, but the
plumbers and electricians have been busy over the past couple of weeks.
1-8-07: The trusses were placed on the gym last
week and the crew began sheeting the roof. Some drywall is being delievered
right now, so the insulation may begin soon.
1-25-07: Today, a group of volunteers are installing
insulation in the youth room. We have several crews on site today,
including electricians, roofers, and general construction.
1-29-07: Over the weekend, several volunteers
finished installing the insulation and plastic sheeting in preparation
for the dry wall contractors who are coming tomorrow.
2-5-07: The windows have all been installed in
the youth room and the siding is up on the majority of the building.
It looks very nice! We will get some more pictures added to the video
below as soon as possible.
2-27-07: The classrooms have all been painted
and the ceiling tiles should be installed this week.
3-26-07: The roof is completed; carpet is being
installed today; the toilets are being installed in the women's bathroom.
We used the gym and youth room for the first time during Lay Witness
Mission this past weekend.
4-23-07: The new classrooms are complete. The carpet in the youth room is being laid this week and the gym floor will be installed over the next two weeks. The bathrooms are almost finished, only needing a few finishing touches.
5-7-07: The gym floor has been installed and is in the final stages. It is beautiful! Soon the exterior will be painted and the project will be complete. We will try to get some more pictures uploaded soon.
5-11-07: The stripes have been painted on the gym floor. We have a new sidewalk that extends from the current building down to the new building and sidewalk.
5-23-07: They gym floor is complete and ready to use. The new stairway in the foyer is constructed and awaits carpeting and painting. The exterior paint is almost finished and looks quite nice. We have some clean up and touch up painting to do and then the initial phase of the building project should be pretty well complete.
8-20-07: The construction of the building is complete. We are waiting on basketball hoops and tables and chairs. The acoustic panels will be in place soon. We do not have a stage curtain or sound equipment for the gym and the kitchen is not functional.
10-30-07: There will be a dedication of the new building on Sunday, November 4, after the morning service, as well as an Open House from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
